CARMEN EJOGO
Carmen Ejogo is most well known for her portrayal of Coretta Scott King in Ava DuVernay’s Oscar® nominated film SELMA, for which she received a Film Independent Spirit Award nomination and an NAACP Image Award win for Best Supporting Actress. Ejogo has never shied away from playing dynamic and determined female characters on film and television. Ejogo was most recently seen on the limited series SELF MADE: INSPIRED BY THE LIFE OF MADAM C. J. WALKER, opposite Octavia Spencer and Tiffany Haddish. She played the fiercely competitive businesswoman, Addie Munroe, nemesis to Spencer’s titular character. Ejogo stunned audiences with her electrifying portrayal of emboldened teacher turned investigative author Amelia Reardon, on the third season of Nic Pizzolatto’s TRUE DETECTIVE, opposite Mahershala Ali. Prior to this, she led the second season of Steven Soderbergh’s highly popular series, THE GIRLFRIEND EXPERIENCE, playing the compelling role of Bria Jones, a troubled woman who escapes an abusive relationship and finds herself at a crossroads. Ejogo recently starred in the feature film RATTLESNAKE. She was seen in Dan Gilroy’s ROMAN J. ISRAEL, ESQ. opposite Denzel Washington and Colin Farrell, and played the pivotal role of Seraphina Picquery in FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM.
