ELIJAH WOOD
Widely regarded as one of the most gifted actors of his generation, Elijah Wood continues to challenge his craft with boundary-pushing roles that span an extensive array of different styles and genres across film, television, video games and animation.
With a career spanning 30 years, Wood has continuously evolved his body of work with notable films including Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Everything is Illuminated, Sin City, The Faculty, The Ice Storm, Set Fire to the Stars, Open Windows, Grand Piano, Maniac, Celeste and Jesse Forever, The Last Witch Hunter, The Romantics, Oxford Murders, Paris Je’Taime, Green Street Hooligans, and I Don't Feel At Home In This World Anymore, which won the prestigious Grand Jury Prize at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival.
Wood will next be seen starring in The Toxic Avenger, an American superhero comedy horror film written and directed by Macon Blair. He will appear alongside Kevin Bacon, Peter Dinklage and Taylour Paige. He will also be seen in L.A. Rush, which tells the story of a father who goes into the world of video gaming to save his teenage daughter from the control of a mysterious game developer. The film is currently in post-production.
Most recently, Wood can be seen in No Man of God, a film that follows the complicated relationship that formed between the FBI analyst Bill Hagmaier, portrayed by Wood, and serial killer Bundy during his final years on death row. The film had its World Premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 11, 2021.
Prior to that, he can be seen starring in the acclaimed genre comedy Come to Daddy, directed by Ant Timpson. Additionally, he starred in the comedy series Wilfred and Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency.
Most notably, Wood starred as the beloved hobbit Frodo Baggins in the iconic trilogy of films The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, and Return of the King, based on J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of The Rings, and directed by Peter Jackson.
Wood also has extensive experience in voice over work, having lent his voice to notable films such as George Miller's Happy Feet and the Tim Burton-produced animated feature 9. Additional projects include the television series Over The Garden Wall and Star Wars Resistance.
Wood's production company SpectreVision, founded in 2010 alongside Daniel Noah and Josh C. Waller, continues to build its reputation with widely celebrated films such as Panos Cosmatos' Mandy, which premiered at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival and which also played at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival. Other SpectreVision films include the comedy/horror film Cooties, which Wood also starred in, as well as The Greasy Strangler, A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night, The Boy and Richard Stanely's Color Out of Space, which premiered at the 2019-edition of the Toronto International Film Festival to rave reviews. Additionally, SpectreVision is currently in development on a Max Headroom series reboot with AMC Networks, with Matt Frewer set to reprise his iconic role. They are also behind the popular podcast Visitations, which Wood co-hosts alongside Daniel Noah. The company also co-created the innovative VR video game Transference, alongside Ubisoft.
