Green New Deal explained

The fuel industry is changing to meet the growing demand for clean energy. And now, lawmakers in Washington are proposing policy to further drive that transition. The Green New Deal, spearheaded by New York Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Massachusetts Democratic Sen. Ed Markey, aims to convert U.S. infrastructure to 100 percent renewable energy in the next decade. While some are praising the deal for catapulting climate change into the national conversation, others are raising concerns about its potential high cost. Rhiana Gunn-Wright, policy director of "New Consensus" and one of the architects of the Green New Deal, explains how the policy will impact jobs and the economy.
