Alexander Skarsgård Joins CBS All Access' The Stand As Randall Flagg
Skarsgård joins the cast of the original limited event series as Stephen King's iconic villain, which starts production today.

The characters of Stephen King's post-apocalyptic world of The Stand now have a face to fill their nightmares.
Alexander Skarsgård will play Randall Flagg in CBS All Access' forthcoming adaptation of the bestselling novel. Skarsgård joins previously announced cast members James Marsden, Amber Heard, Odessa Young, Jovan Adepo, Owen Teague, Henry Zaga, Brad William Henke, and Whoopi Goldberg.

Randall Flagg, also known as the Dark Man, is an unsettling and ever-changing presence in The Stand, as well as the embodiment of pure evil. Like Mother Abagail (Goldberg), Flagg appears in the dreams of the plague survivors but, unlike her divine messaging, his ultimate goal is far more sinister...
Today, Friday the 13th, also marks the first day of principal photography on The Stand, which is shooting in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Skarsgård is fast becoming one of Hollywood's most in-demand actors and in 2017 won Emmy, Golden Globe, Critics' Choice, and Screen Actors Guild Awards for his haunting portrayal of Perry on HBO's Emmy Award-winning mini-series Big Little Lies.
Recently, he reprised his role in the second season of Big Little Lies and wrapped production on the Warner Bros. film Godzilla vs. Kong.
