Side-By-Side Looks At Prime And Mirror Universe Characters On Star Trek: Discovery

Suffice to say, a lot went down during the U.S.S. Discovery's unexpected journey to the Mirror Universe in Season 1 of Star Trek: Discovery. From flashy Terran uniform changes to plot twists and turns galore, it seemed that anything was the table for our heroes—including the resurrection of characters long thought dead!

Now that Discovery has returned to known Federation space, let's take a look back at some of the characters' eye-catching alt-outfits and how their Mirror counterparts fit into this epic storyline.

While Mirror Burnham was presumed dead by the time Discovery arrived in the Mirror Universe, Prime Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) posed as her medal-adorned counterpart in order to find a way home for her crew.

In the Prime universe, Captain Georgiou (Michelle Yeoh) was killed at the Battle of the Binary Stars. So, Burnham was understandably shocked to learn that not only was Mirror Georgiou alive and well, but she was the Emperor of the Terran Empire—and looking quite regal at that!

In a shocking twist that shook Burnham and the Discovery crew to their collective core, their Lorca (Jason Isaacs) and Mirror Lorca turned out to be the same Lorca, plotting to take over the Terran Empire. During his coup, the captain donned Terran armor to take on the Emperor, but ultimately died by her hands—or rather, her sword.

Burnham's wide-eyed roommate Tilly (Mary Wiseman) couldn't be more different from her murderous Terran half, but that didn't stop her from playing the part of "Captain Killy" perfectly—while also rocking the straight, blonde hair!

In the Mirror Universe, Kelpiens are considered servants (or a delicacy, depending on who you ask). That's why Mirror Saru (Doug Jones) was dressed down as Burnham's personal servant aboard the I.S.S. Shenzhou.

Tyler (Shazad Latif) crossing paths with his Mirror self led to a huge revelation for him on Harlak: that he was in fact the surgically reconstructed Klingon Torchbearer Voq!

Prime Sarek (James Frain) and Mirror Sarek were not entirely dissimilar in their Vulcan impassivity, but the latter's alliance with Voq did come as a great surprise for Burnham.

Mirror Sarek also sported a wicked-looking goatee—a reference to Mirror Spock's facial hair in the classic original series episode "Mirror, Mirror."

Stamets (Anthony Rapp) and Mirror Stamets' meeting was unique in that it wasn't in person. Distinguished by their opposing uniforms, the two formed an uneasy alliance within the mycelial network to return to their respective starships.

Both Landrys (Rekha Sharma) may have had an affinity for Lorca, but only Mirror Landry suited up for a fight alongside her diabolical captain. In both cases, they were loyal to the bitter end.
