Piece By Piece: A Recap Of Life In Pieces, Episode 7

Sometimes a close family bond can be a little too close for comfort.

Bonding has never really been a problem for the Short family. Their frequent visits and heart-to-heart conversations makes for a strong family unit.

But, sometimes their closeness is a little too close for comfort, as we learned in "Nanny Tent Earrings Cheeto" when almost everyone was dealing with various attachment issues.

From Greg and Jen relinquishing parental power and hiring a nanny to John’s inexplicably strong connection to a puppet, the whole family learned just how painful it can be to let go and face the truth.

Here are four particularly hilarious moments from the seventh episode of Life In Pieces:

1.) Greg and Jen get an unexpected return visit from their quirky lactation experts.

After placing an advertisement for a nanny, Teddy and Bernadette—the anti-formula brother-and-sister duo—came calling and begged to be considered for the position.

Jen and Greg politely listened to their pitch, but the pair had zero childcare experience. However, that didn't stop them from begging the new parents for a loan. Needless to say, Jen couldn’t get them out the door quick enough!

2.) Greg, Matt, and Tim go camping together and experience a powerful bout of male bonding.

In an attempt to make their sister's husband, Tim, feel more like one of the clan, Matt and Greg decided to take a camping trip together. The Short men started to regret the outing once they were exposed to their brother-in-law's sleeping attire—or, more accurately, lack of sleeping attire—but the bros banded together once a bunch of jerkfaces attempted to wreak havoc on the campsite.

Thankfully, Tim brought a couple of B12 shots with him, which allowed the motley crew to combat sleep and protect the tent.

3.) Heather calls out Greg for buying earrings with money she gave him.

Always the caregiver, Heather happily gave Matt money so he could buy new clothes for a job interview. However, she later sees his girlfriend, Colleen, donning a gorgeous pair of diamond earrings, Heather suspects her hard-earned cash went toward that over-the-top purchase.

Unable to keep her mouth shut, the mother of three confronts her brother about squandering her money, only to find out the earrings were a keepsake from Matt's hair-metal phase.

4.) John introduces everyone to a new member of the family, who also happens to be a puppet.

When John told everyone that they'd soon be joined by a new family member, no one knew what that meant. However, confusion quickly turned to shock—and then horror—as he revealed Cheeto, a terrifying puppet he made from scratch.

Sadly, instead of appreciating their father's new hobby, the Short children used the puppet as a prop to scare everyone in its path. Apparently, the family that pranks together, stays together.
