Here we go, Big Ten fans. With the regular season winding down, No. 4 Penn State will hit the road to put its College Football Playoff dreams on the line on Saturday against Minnesota.

Penn State is coming off a 49-10 win over Purdue. With the W, Penn State held onto the No. 4 spot in the latest AP Top 25 Poll.

Coach James Franklin's Nittany Lions are tied in the Big Ten standings with the Ohio State Buckeyes. The two teams hold 6-1 conference records, as well as identical overall records of 9-1. In the Big Ten, they sit behind Oregon (11-0; 8-0 Big Ten) and Indiana (10-0; 7-0 Big Ten). At the close of the regular season, the top two teams in the conference will meet in the 2024 Big Ten Championship Game, with the winner receiving an automatic ticket to the College Football Playoff.

If Penn State doesn't secure a berth in the Big Ten Championship Game, it can still qualify for an entry if it maintains its lofty spot in the College Football Playoff rankings. As of publication, Penn State was ranked No. 4 by the College Football Playoff Selection Committee – a position that would qualify it for the 12-team postseason field.

Minnesota, meanwhile, heads into Saturday's contest off a bye. Coach P.J. Fleck's Golden Gophers were last in action on Nov. 9, when they lost to Rutgers, 26-19. Minnesota is 4-3 in the Big Ten, 6-4 overall – and, as of their Nov. 2 upset win over Illinois, eligible to be selected for a bowl game.

This season, Big Ten football will be carried by a number of networks, including CBS, which will present 17 games, all the way up and including the 2024 Big Ten Championship Game, set for Saturday, Dec. 7, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.
