New shows on Paramount+ in December 2024

Dexter®: Original Sin (Dec. 13)
The prequel series Dexter®: Original Sin stars Patrick Gibson as America’s favorite serial killer. Set in 1991 Miami, the show follows Dexter as he transitions from student to avenging murderer. When he can no longer ignore his bloodthirsty urges, Dexter realizes he must learn to channel his inner darkness. Guided by his father, Harry (Christian Slater), he adopts a code designed to help him find and kill those who deserve to be eliminated from society. Dexter must do this without winding up on law enforcement’s radar – a particular challenge once he begins a forensics internship at the Miami Metro Police Department.

In addition to Gibson and Slater, this 10-episode drama stars Molly Brown, James Martinez, Christina Milian, Alex Shimizu, Reno Wilson, with Patrick Dempsey, and special guest star Sarah Michelle Gellar.

And, yes, Dexter® fans: Michael C. Hall, who earned multiple Emmy® nominations as the original Dexter Morgan in Dexter® and Dexter®: New Blood, is back for Dexter®: Original Sin. He’ll provide the voice of Young Dexter's inner monologue.

Dexter®: Original Sin premieres Friday, Dec. 13, on Paramount+ with the Paramount+ with SHOWTIME® plan only. New episodes will drop weekly.

as1one: The Israeli-Palestinian Pop Music Journey (Dec. 3)
This compelling four-part docuseries features the six young men who have come together to form the world’s first mixed Israeli-Palestinian pop group, as1one. Throughout the series, the theme of music being the ultimate connector is explored in depth. The band members share their experiences over the span of five years, including their challenging audition process in 2020, their language barriers, their intense rehearsal schedule, and the emotional highs and lows they’ve endured as a group. They also express their thoughts about the events of Oct. 7, 2023 – the day after the Los Angeles-based recording of their first album – and the monumental challenges they’ve faced each day since. With so much at stake because of the war, the group members find that together, they and their music represent something greater than their individual parts.

as1one: The Israeli-Palestinian Pop Music Journey will feature original music from the group, including the singles, “All Eyes On Us,” featuring Nile Rodgers, and “Stranger.” All four episodes drop Tuesday, Dec. 3 on Paramount+.

Recently premiered on Paramount+

Landman
Co-created by Oscar® nominee Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace, and based on the podcast Boomtown, Landman is a modern-day tale of fortune-seeking in the world of oil rigs. The new original drama is set in the proverbial boomtowns of West Texas, and presents a story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires – the people who have fueled a boom so big, it’s reshaping our climate, our economy, and our geopolitics.

Landman stars Oscar® winner Billy Bob Thornton, plus Ali Larter, Michelle Randolph, Jacob Lofland, Kayla Wallace, James Jordan, Mark Collie, Paulina Chávez, and Demi Moore. Jon Hamm stars in a recurring guest role, with Andy Garcia and Michael Peña also serving as guest stars.

Landman premiered Nov. 17. New episodes drop weekly on Sundays, exclusively on Paramount+, through the season finale.

The Agency
This SHOWTIME® original series is a brand-new take on the French show Le Bureau des Legendes. It follows Martian (Oscar® nominee Michael Fassbender), a covert CIA agent ordered to abandon his undercover life and return to London Station. When the love he left behind reappears, romance reignites. His career, his real identity, and his mission are pitted against his heart, hurling both Martian and his lover into a deadly game of international intrigue and espionage.

Along with Fassbender, The Agency stars Oscar® winner Jeffrey Wright, Jodie Turner-Smith, Katherine Waterston, John Magaro, Alex Reznik, Andrew Brooke, Harriet Sansom Harris, India Fowler, Saura Lightfoot-Leon, and Richard Gere. Executive producers include Fassbender and Oscar® winners George Clooney and Grant Heslov.

The Agency premiered Nov. 29. New episodes drop weekly on Fridays through the season finale. Please note: The Agency streams on Paramount+ with the Paramount+ with SHOWTIME® plan only.

Dear Santa
Deck the halls with this factoid: Dear Santa is the first original Christmas film from Paramount+. The movie is the story of a young boy (Robert Timothy Smith) who mails his Christmas wish list to Santa with one crucial spelling error, resulting in the arrival of a certain devilish fellow (Jack Black). This deviously charming comedy marks the return of Peter and Bobby Farrelly – that is, the Farrelly Brothers – the hilarious minds behind films like Kingpin. With their latest collaboration, which joins their decades-spanning repertoire of wild comedy films, Christmas is going up in flames.

In addition to Black and Smith, Dear Santa stars Keegan-Michael Key, Brianne Howey, Hayes MacArthur, global music superstar Post Malone, P.J. Byrne, Jaden Carson Baker, and Kai Cech.
